Dr. Robert Tausend

Robert Stephen Tausend, M.D. passed away on 1/1/2021 at the age of 65. He was born May 14, 1955 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Pasadena High School in 1973. He attended the University of Texas-Austin prior to his admission into medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio. During medical school he met his future wife, Rhonda Luna, and they were married in Athens, Texas in 1979. He completed a residency in dermatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston in 1983.

Upon completion of his medical training, he returned to Pasadena and opened Bayshore Dermatology Clinic in the same building as his father, Paul Tausend, M.D., practiced Family Medicine. He continued to practice dermatology in the same location for 36 years providing care for thousands of patients. He also served in leadership positions for Bayshore Medical Center, Harris County Medical Society, and Houston Dermatological Society.

Robert Tausend was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rhonda Tausend; children, Stephen, William and wife Melissa; grandchildren Nolan and Ruby Tausend; Siblings Patti and Marco Pardi, Tom and Lucy Tausend, Martha and Larry Jensen, Susie and Jack Hailes, and Charles Luna. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ruby Tausend, Betty and Charles Luna, and sister-in-law- Sheila Luna.
